NUR182 - Pressure Ulcers (1.0 HR)

Purpose: Health care personnel will increase their care giving skills and understanding of patients with pressure ulcers. Objectives: 1. Discuss the incidence of pressure ulcers; 2. Define those individuals who are more at risk for pressure ulcer development; 3. Utilize a pressure ulcer assessment scale; 4. Identify potential causes of skin breakdown; 5. List at least 10 guidelines for prevention of pressure ulcers; 6. Explain how a pressure ulcer develops; 7.
