NUR146 - HIV and AIDS: The Basics (1.0 HR)
Purpose: To enhance the participant’s knowledge of HIV and AIDS. Objectives: 1. Describe and differentiate between HIV and AIDS; 2. Explain how HIV can be transmitted; 3. Identify opportunistic infections/diseases that may occur with the HIV patient; 4. Discuss drug treatment and clinical management of HIV/AIDS; 5. Discuss methods to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS and infection control procedures to use in the workplace; 6. Explain exposure management.
