NUR202 - The Nurse Leader and Teamwork (1.5 HR)

Purpose: The purpose of this course is to investigate the application of the team within the context of nursing leadership and improve the nurse’s knowledge of effective leadership skills. Objectives:  1. Evaluate effective nursing leadership teams and their impact on health care environments; 2. Discuss the importance of interdisciplinary and interprofessional teamwork in the health care environment; 3. Discuss barriers to effective communication; 4. Examine the concept of problem solving and conflict resolution; 5. Explore the theory and skills of assessment by nurse leaders; 6. Discuss the contemporary concept of managing conflict; 7. Evaluate the differences between the problem resolution process and negotiation.
