REG115 - Social Work Ethics (3.0 HR)
Purpose: The purpose of this course is to present social workers with a comprehensive understanding of ethical theories, principles, and the application of these principles to social work practice. This course also examines the detailed components of the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics (NASW). Objectives: 1. Identify the historical context of ethics; 2. Explain the various terms and ethical principles associated with ethics; 3. Discuss the purpose of the NASW Code of Ethics; 4. Describe the categories of the NASW ethical principles; 5. Distinguish the different types of ethical decision-making models; 6. Understand certain special circumstances that social workers may encounter.
