NUR189 - Submersion Injuiries: Drowning (1.0 HR)

Purpose: Upon completion of this course, the participant will have enhanced knowledge of drowning, those most at risk, and patient teaching that may prevent a drowning. Objectives: 1. Discuss national facts related to drowning; 2. Differentiate between near drowning, dry-drowning, and wet-drowning; 3. Discuss the pathophysiology of drowning; 4. List the five stages to a drowning; 5. Discuss emergency treatment of the drowning victim; 6.
