ALL112 - Medication Management Overview (1.5 HR)
Purpose: This course is intended primarily for non-licensed health care personnel who provide direct care for people in home care programs. General guidelines are provided for administering or assisting with the administration of medications. This content reviews basic medication safety and the 6 Rights and three checks of medication administration. Learners will also become familiar with the various routes for medication administration. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to: 1- Describe medication safety and the role of proper handwashing. 2- List the 6 Rights of medication management and summarize each. 3- Describe the basic principles of medication assistance procedures. 4- Explain the various routes of medication. 5- Review the techniques of medication assistance for each type.
