Purpose: The home health aide will enhance her understanding of type 2 diabetes and the care of the client with the disease. Objectives: 1. Discuss diabetes and the different types of diabetes; 2. List the risk factors for type 2 diabetes; 3. Discuss the signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes; 4. Explain hypo- and hyperglycemia; 5. Explore tests for diabetes; 6. Discuss the care of the diabetic client; 7. Explore complications of type 2 diabetes.
