REG123 - Emergency & Disaster Preparedness
Purpose: To provide the learner with general guidelines to follow during emergency and disaster situations to increase the safety for staff and patients. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to: 1) Define the four core elements of an emergency plan. 2) Describe actions to take when confronted with the different emergency/disaster situations. Discuss steps you might take to evacuate patients or residents in an emergency. 3) Review general steps to take to shelter in place. 4) Explain different types of natural disasters and what to do during each. 5)Explain the different types of man-made disasters and what to do during each.
