CNA207 - CMA: Alzheimer's Disease (1.0 HR)

Purpose: Health care workers will understand the disease process and gain knowledge of the diagnosis process, the warning signs, the stages of the disease, and how to keep the resident safe. Objectives: 1. Understand what Alzheimer’s disease is and how widespread it is; 2. Be aware of the testing process used to identify AD; 3. Discuss the stages of Alzheimer’s; 4. Discuss the stages of Alzheimer’s; 5. Discuss the importance of safety; 6. Discuss communication with the person that has AD; 7. Discuss personal care 8. Identify medications used in the care of residents with Alzheimer’s disease; 9. Discuss management of behaviors related to dementia; 10. Gain knowledge of prevention and cure.
